Every week, there’s a new version of Sanity Studio released with fresh new features and improvements. In the last 8 months, we've released 350+ product updates to Sanity Studio, including scheduled publishing, tasks, AI-powered automations, copy-paste, multi-deployment targets, clickable comment links, and now, the much-anticipated Auto-updating Sanity Studio.
With auto-updates, Sanity Studio updates itself to the latest versions, so you get every product update as it’s released. Never miss a beat.

How it works
Opt in with the --auto-updates flag in your build step, and deploy it. It’s simple.
Whenever a new patch or minor release is available (3.X.X), the core Sanity Studio app will automatically update and you can starting using it in one of two ways:
- If your Studio was not in use during the update, you’ll be to the latest version when you open it.
- If your Studio was in use during the update, you'll see a notification in your Studio with a button to reload. Click it, reload, and you’ll have the new version instantly.
Your custom code remains untouched and will continue to work as it was. No breaking changes. Just the good stuff.
